Is the November 19 date final, or could it move again?

The date holds, and the strongest evidence for it is financial rather than promotional.

Take-Two’s guidance for fiscal year 2027 projects $8 to $8.2 billion in net bookings, with the November 19 launch named as the engine of that forecast. A listed company does not build revenue guidance around a date it expects to miss — that carries consequences no marketing setback does. CEO Strauss Zelnick reaffirmed the date on Take-Two’s May 21, 2026 earnings call and has repeated it publicly since.

Everything downstream lines up. Pre-orders opened June 25 with confirmed pricing and editions. The marketing campaign is running. Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has signalled any movement.

One caveat: this game has been moved twice, and both earlier dates looked settled until the day they weren’t. If November 19 moves, this page changes the same day, and the change will be logged below.

GTA 6 has carried three official release windows. All three were real. Two were replaced.

Rockstar’s November statement ran short. The studio apologised for the added wait and said the extra months would let the team finish the game with “the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.” Unlike the first delay, this one arrived with no trailer and no screenshots — the statement and the game’s logo, nothing else. Take-Two’s share price fell around 10% the same day.

If you came here because you remember a 26 May 2026 date, or a 2025 window, your memory is right. Rockstar announced both. Both were replaced. The date that stands today is 19 November 2026, and it is the only one Rockstar currently lists.

Which platforms can you play GTA 6 on?

GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Both Xbox consoles are covered — Series S owners get the game, not only Series X.

Everything else is a no, and each for a different reason:

• PS4 and Xbox One — no. GTA 6 was built for current-generation hardware and no last-gen version is planned. If you’re still on a PS4 or Xbox One, playing at launch means buying a console, which is a real cost sitting on top of a $79.99 game. • Nintendo Switch 2 — no indication. Rockstar hasn’t mentioned the platform and no store listing exists.
• Game Pass or PS Plus at launch — no. Rockstar has never placed a mainline GTA into a subscription service on release day. GTA V reached Game Pass years after launch and was later pulled.

When is GTA 6 coming to PC?

What Rockstar has confirmed: nothing. No PC release date, no named storefront, no system requirements, no PC edition in the pre-order listings. Rockstar hasn’t stated that a PC version is coming at all.

What the record suggests. Rockstar’s own history is the only evidence anyone has, and it’s consistent. GTA IV reached PC seven months after consoles. GTA V took 19 months — a September 2013 console launch, April 2015 on PC. Red Dead Redemption 2 took roughly 12. Applied to a November 2026 console date, that points somewhere between late 2027 and mid-2028. Treat it as a projection built on precedent, not as reporting.

One detail worth knowing: Rockstar rarely announces a PC version until well after the console release. Silence through 2026 fits the pattern rather than contradicting it, so read it as normal.

Price, editions, and pre-orders

GTA 6 costs $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Pre-orders opened 25 June 2026 across the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and major retailers. There are only two editions — Rockstar skipped the collector’s tiers it built for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Every pre-order, either edition, includes the Vintage Vice City Pack: a two-tone ’55 Vapid Stanier and a garage near Ocean Beach, outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and a weapon pattern. Digital pre-orders through the PlayStation and Microsoft stores also come with a free month of GTA+.

Two things buyers tend to miss.

• The box has no disc. Physical copies go on sale 12 November and contain a download code. Discs are expected later — reports point to December, though Rockstar hasn’t given a date. Plan for a full download on day one, and note that a code-in-box copy can’t be lent or resold the way a disc can.
• You don’t strictly need to pre-order for the bonus. The Vintage Vice City Pack covers digital purchases made through 20 November. Pre-ordering secures pre-load access about a week before launch; waiting for reviews costs you nothing digitally, since Rockstar titles don’t sell out. How long since GTA 5? The 13-year gap

Grand Theft Auto V released 17 September 2013 on PS3 and Xbox 360. A November 2026 launch puts 13 years and two months between the two games — the longest gap in the series’ history.

The reason is commercial rather than creative. GTA V has shipped more than 225 million copies, and GTA Online kept producing revenue for over a decade, which removed any pressure on Rockstar to ship a sequel early.

The setting and leads: Vice City, Jason, and Lucia

GTA 6 is set in Leonida, Rockstar’s version of Florida, built around Vice City — its Miami. The map reaches past the city into beaches, swamps, and smaller towns across the state. Vice City last appeared in 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, making this the first return in more than twenty years.

You play two characters. Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are a couple whose story Rockstar has framed around Bonnie and Clyde — an easy score goes wrong and the two end up inside a criminal operation running across Leonida. What happens between now and launch

Trailer 3 — unannounced. Rockstar has confirmed nothing: no date, no teaser, no countdown. Community expectation clusters around late July into August, reasoning from the gap between the first two trailers and the timing of Take-Two’s earnings. That’s inference from pattern, not information.

• Take-Two earnings call — 7 August 2026. The next scheduled point where official information usually surfaces.
• Physical copies on sale — 12 November. Code in box, no disc. Pre-load opens for pre-order holders roughly a week before launch.
• Launch — 19 November. A Thursday, one week before Black Friday, which matters if you’re timing a console purchase against hardware discounts.
